Commercial Pilot Training
If you desire to become a commercial pilot you need to undergo this course. After completion you are then awarded CPL (Commercial Pilot Licence). Commercial pilot training is a licensing course.
Eligibility : Only 12th Science stream students who have passed 12th board exams (with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects) are eligible to apply for this course.
candidates have to clear written exam, Pilot Aptitude Test as well as Interview to get selected into the training program.
Non Science stream students may pursue the required subjects through NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling).
A Commercial Pilot has to be fit- physically and mentally. Medical certificate is needed.
Entrance Exams : Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi conducted by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Delhi Flying Club Entrance Exam, Indian Aviation Academy Entrance Exam, Blue Diamond Aviation Entrance Exam, Livewell Academy Entrance Exam, etc.
Term : duration of this course is 18 months to 2 years
Scope : Commercial or Ferry Pilots (in Private or Government sector Airlines, Chartered Flights etc). Pilot Training Centres, Airlines, Aviation Industry, Flying clubs as instructors, Security services, Flying academies, Military and paramilitary services, etc.
Flying a minimum of 200 hours will grant you the Commercial Pilot License (CPL).
B.Sc. Aviation
3 years long Undergraduate Degree program that focuses on aerospace technology and the aviation industry.
Eligibility : passed 10+2 board examination (with Physics and Mathematics subjects) from a recognized board are eligible to pursue this course.
Term : 3 years
Scope : Air Traffic Controller, Ground operations staff, Cargo management staff, Ticketing staff etc.
BBA Aviation
3-year undergraduate course that deals with passenger forecasting, airport security, passenger forecasting, etc.
Eligibility : passed 10+2 board examination (with Physics and Mathematics subjects) from a recognized board are eligible to pursue this course.
Term : 3-year
Scope : Credit Control Manager, Airline Contracting, Airport Manager, Aerodrome Officer, Aerodrome Assistant, Cargo Manager, etc.
Should I opt for BSc Aviation or BBA Aviation?
This will depend on the interest of the students. If the student is interested in learning about the internal mechanics of the aircraft and how to fly it, then BSc Aviation is the right choice. However, if the student is interested to know about the management of aviation, then BBA Aviation is the right choice.
Aeronautical Engineering
BE/B Tech Degree in Aeronautical Engineering will help you land a job related to the Aviation sector. Aeronautical Engineering is all about designing, manufacturing and maintaining Aircraft!
Eligibility : passed 10+2 board examination (with Physics and Mathematics subjects) from a recognized board are eligible to pursue this course. Students have to clear National as well as State level entrance tests to get admission in recognized Institutes. Aeronautical Engineering is offered in by many engineering colleges in India. Admission criteria for Aeronautical Engineers are JEE Main and JEE Advanced score, etc.
Scope : Chief Engineer, Research and Development Engineer, Design Engineer, Aeronautical Engineers, Flight Engineers, Aerospace Design Checker, etc.
Aerospace engineering focuses on designing both aircraft and spacecraft and it is a study of all the space crafts used within and out of the earth's atmosphere while Aeronautical Engineering is the study of aircraft that operates within the earth's atmosphere.
